Greetings fellow Vietnam Veterans of the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines Division. My name is John P. Kaper, Charley Company. As the Board Secretary for the Committee, I am reaching out to remind you to register for the 2019 Reunion, scheduled in San Diego, October 23-26. Please visit the web site to register, reunion updates and itinerary. We are receiving a great response and want to make the 2019 Reunion a memorable visit for you, family members and guests. I am honored to be part of a Team effort working on your behalf to plan a successful and memorable Reunion in San Diego and look forward to seeing you in October.

This Reunion promises to be a Historical Remembrance for many reasons. However, we continue to be reminded that this may be the last time that some of us may go back to our beginnings as young Marine recruits. That itself is worth attending!

The Commanding General of Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), Brigadier General Ryan P. Heritage has been invited to help welcome the 1/1 Vietnam Veterans, their families and invited guest, and to speak about the history and significance of MCRD as a military depot. Immediately after the ceremony we will be transported to the Bayview Café for a luncheon. After the luncheon there will be plenty of FREE TIME to wander and explore MCRD Museum and other sites. The day will end with a spectacular sunset view from Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial.

As Board Secretary, along with the Reunion Committee Board of Directors we invite you to register ASAP and ask that you contact other 1/1-Marines and encourage them to register and attend the Reunion. Please visit the website for registration form and updates regarding the 2019 Reunion.

Meanwhile, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. See website for our contact information.
